An excellent explanation of what it is to be, a Christian, Conservative, American.

Kingsjester's Blog

I have been asked to define what it means to be a Christian American Conservative.  After all, that’s how I identify myself and that is what it says on the top of this blog, since I began this exercise in ranting and raving in April of 2010.

Let’s perform a dissection, shall we?

First word:  Christian – A follower of Jesus Christ.

I was raised as a Christian by my parents and accepted Christ as my personal Savior many years ago.

Here are some interesting things about Christianity to consider, written by Dr. Ray Pritchard and posted on christianity.com:

1) The name “Christian” was not invented by early Christians. It was a name given to them by others.
2) Christians called themselves by different names—disciples, believers, brethren, saints, the elect, etc.
3) The term apparently had a negative meaning in the beginning: “those belonging to the Christ party.”
4) It…

Just how flexible should a person or a group be?

What I mean is this: If I or anyone for that matter, has a strong Religious belief or faith in God, at what point should they be willing to compromise?

I personally have some very ridged absolutes that I will not bend or compromise on, in my faith.  I hold them as truths that do not change with time, thoughts, feelings or traditions of men.  They just are.

However, there are things that I think I know, then I find out, I did not know every thing about a subject.  At that point I can be flexible and learn more.  Therefore in my thinking, I can compromise.

It is no different then for people in a Religion not to be willing to bend or compromise their beliefs.  They are established doctrines that they believe they must adhere to.  These things are not open to change by the whims, thoughts or feelings of the group.

There are those in their unbelief in a Religion or God, that are just as inflexible and not willing to compromise on their stance.  Unbelief is there right as well.

Thoughts change, whims change, feelings are ever changing, thus society changes.  I question; does that give license to force acceptance of these changes on everyone?

I say it does not.  No person, group or Government has the right to force acceptance of or belief in anything.  This includes political correctness and social changes.

Stretching and bending established truths and norms will not make them acceptable to everyone and it should not.  Forced teachings, theological or secular are tyrannical and do not foster belief.  Belief in anything is a free will expression of the person that believes.

In conclusion, Faith in God and Religious beliefs are not like physical exercise that if one bends and stretches enough, changes for the better will occur. Faith is the assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of things not seen and beliefs are set standards that one holds on to by faith.

The beginning:  I do not have one specific theme, I desire to put my thoughts on this Blog on a variety of  issues that are inspiring as well as thought provoking to me.  I hope that what I write will encourage and challenge those whom per chance will read the thoughts and concerns I put to word.

I shall start with this fast paced, ever-changing onslaught of the pressures of this life, that are weighty on our Nations people.

There are so many choices to make and challenges to overcome in each day, that one can barely catch their breath.  It is not merely the bad things that I mention, I mean the busy things and the things that distract us from thought and repose.   Things that cause us to miss a simple kindness or ignore a loved ones need.

We are bombarded with mindless fodder in the world that surrounds us. The noise of hustle and movement, enough to make ones head spin some days.  Other days can seem endless as we rush to and fro to get things done before the darkness comes.  Rest then and wake to start again. I call “it” the vicious cycle, and I do not believe “it” will slow down for us.

In the rush and stress this brings, I sought a place to hide, to take a breath and stop a bit and rest my weary mind.  While in that state it came to me, so peaceful and serine, there is someone who cares for me and knows, the weight and all my cares, He asked me to let go. It was so clear and comforting I could not say no.

Now I am glad to tell this tale and let everybody know;  that in Gods love and His great arms there is a place to go.  He is waiting there to hear you say,  you can no longer tough the weight of life, with all its strife, that you too will let go.

Thank you, Father God.
